Big data merujuk pada kumpulan data besar dan kompleks yang tidak dapat dikelola menggunakan metode tradisional. Dengan karakteristik 5V (volume, velocity, variety, veracity, value), Big data memungkinkan analisis mendalam dan pengambilan keputusan berbasis bukti. Teknologi seperti Hadoop, Spark, pembelajaran mesin, kecerdasan buatan, dan cloud computing mendukung pemrosesan dan analisis Big data untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan daya saing perusahaan. Penerapan Big data membantu organisasi dalam menetapkan tujuan bisnis yang lebih realistis dan responsif terhadap perubahan pasar. Namun, tantangan seperti integrasi data, masalah privasi, kekurangan tenaga ahli, dan biaya implementasi tinggi perlu diatasi. Di masa depan, Big data memiliki potensi untuk mendorong transformasi digital, integrasi dengan Internet of Things (IoT), serta analitik real-time yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan pengalaman pelanggan. Selain itu, isu etika terkait privasi data dan bias algoritmik harus diperhatikan untuk memastikan penggunaan Big data yang bertanggung jawab.
